The Twits and I have been on our exchange four days now. We have finally located a decent boulangerie in our vicinity (just northwest of Nice), and we have been to the Cours Saleya Marché aux Fleurs. Which means we are eating well. Breakfast: pain au chocolat. Lunch: baguette ancienne with salami (Chief Twit), mimolette cheese (Girl Twit), plus goat cheese and tomatoes (me). After meals, we indulge: melon de Charentais, cherries, and sweet, sweet white peaches. (The Chief Twit, I’m sad to report, also nips Nutella.) Our exchange family owns a machine that makes soda water; Girl Twit does the gassing, and we all drink it up. Chief Twit has a hankering to dine in a restaurant; problem is, he’s with two females who are happy to live on French bread and butter indefinitely.
